LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore turned down interim bail of former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President, Pervaiz Elahi in a case of attack over police during a raid at his house, ARY News reported on Thursday.
A case was registered against Pervaiz Elahi and others at the Ghalib Market police station in Lahore on charges of hurling petrol bombs at the police and interfering in government work.
Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Ijaz Ahmed Butar heard Elahi’s bail application. At the outset of the hearing, Pervaiz Elahi’s lawyer sought a day exemption from court appearance for his client on medical grounds, which was turned down by the court.
The ATC also turned down the interim bail of Pervaiz Elahi in the case.
The PTI president in his plea had stated police booked him over baseless allegations of attacking and throwing petrol bombs on the police party during raid at his house.

Earlier, Pervaiz Elahi was granted interim bail by the ATC till May 11 in a case lodged at the Ghalib Market police station.
ACE, police raid
On April 28, the anti-corruption establishment (ACE) team along with police contingents raided former Punjab Chief Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Pervaiz Elahi’s house in Lahore.
It was learnt that 25 persons including a woman were arrested by ACE during the raid. However, he was not arrested in the raid.
The eight-hour-long police action came to a halt after the Director General of Punjab’s Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Sohail Zafar Chattha, left the scene along with the police contingent.
