At least six people including three children have been killed in a shooting incident at a school in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to International media reports, the city’s fire department said there were “multiple patients” from a shooting incident at a local school.
Nashville police said they had engaged and killed the shooter, who was described as a teenage female, while the Police are still working to identify the victims and the culprit.
At a news conference, police spokesperson Don Aaron confirmed the dead include three children, three staff members and the shooter.
The suspect was carrying two “assault-type” rifles and at least one pistol has been recovered at the scene. The identity of the shooter remains unclear.
According to data compiled by Education Week, there were 12 school shootings in 2023 through 23 March that have resulted in deaths or injuries in the US.
